What to Expect
For someone embarking on their first intimate shoot, there are often a lot of questions. While I try to answer most of them here, please feel free to ask me anything at all about the shoot. I am here to help.
What to Wear
Prior to the shoot, please dress comfortably in loose clothing. It is important not to wear anything tight that will leave red compression marks on your skin for at least an hour before the shoot. Once we are ready to begin, have a selection of attire you feel comfortable and beautiful in. I will always make sure there is a space available for you to change costumes privately.
Hair and Makeup
I normally suggest that both of these be as natural as possible. The idea is to capture you as uniquely and honestly. Unless we are doing a strongly themed shoot, dramatic makeup is often very limiting. I am not a makeup artist, though I am willing to locate a makeup artist for you for an additional fee.
Meals
While I recommend not shooting on an empty stomach, I also advise against shooting right after Thanksgiving dinner. I find that natural foods, like fruits and vegetables, snacked upon as necessary strike a nice balance of keeping your energy level up and not making you feel overfull and uncomfortable.
Timing
Once a shoot is scheduled, I will arrive at the agreed-upon location no more than five minutes before or after the scheduled time. I have a navigation system, I have Google. I know the roads, and the traffic, there are no excuses. Any uncontrollable delays I will call you about immediately. Your time and mine are valuable, I am not going to waste either.
Who Will Be There
You may bring anyone that will make you more comfortable, and make the experience more fun. While my experience is that having one’s “significant other” present often tends to be inhibiting, I have seen this go all ways. Your comfort is THE priority. In certain situations, I may request that my wife come as an assistant, but I never bring anyone else without your prior knowledge. I am not about surprises!
